HDFC BANK SLIDES OVER 2% AFTER Q3 UPDATE, UNION BANK HITS FRESH 52-WEEK HIGH
HDFC Bank shares declined more than 2% on January 5 after the lender released its provisional Q3 FY26 business update, emerging as the top loser on the Sensex and Nifty. The stock slipped to an intraday low of ₹978.50, while Union Bank of India outperformed with a strong rally of over 4%, hitting a fresh 52-week high of ₹162.99. HDFC Bank – Q3 FY26 Snapshot HDFC Bank reported a 9% year-on-year rise in average advances under management to ₹28.64 lakh crore. Period-end advances under management increased 9.8% YoY to ₹29.46 lakh crore, while gross advances grew 11.9% YoY to ₹25.43 lakh crore. Average deposits rose 12.2% YoY to ₹27.52 lakh crore, and CASA deposits increased 9.9% YoY to ₹8.18 lakh crore. Union Bank of India – Q3 FY26 Snapshot Union Bank reported a 7.13% YoY growth in gross advances to ₹10.17 lakh crore and a 3.36% YoY rise in deposits to ₹12.23 lakh crore. Domestic CASA deposits grew 5% YoY to ₹4.15 lakh crore. Other Banking Stocks Federal Bank and IDFC First Bank declined over 1% each. Kotak Mahindra Bank, PNB, IndusInd Bank and Canara Bank ended marginally lower. On the positive side, Yes Bank gained over 2%, while Axis Bank, ICICI Bank and AU Small Finance Bank rose over 1% each.
