📰 Hindustan Zinc Hits Fresh Record High as Silver Prices Soar to All-Time Peak
Shares of Hindustan Zinc, a Vedanta Group company, jumped over 3% on December 17 to hit a fresh 52-week and record high of ₹585.75, driven by a sharp surge in silver prices. The stock has now gained in six of the last seven trading sessions and is up over 29% in less than a month. The rally comes as silver prices touched historic highs both in India and globally. Domestic silver futures crossed the ₹2.05 lakh per kg mark for the first time, while global spot silver surged past $66 an ounce, reflecting strong demand from industrial use, clean energy applications, and investor interest. Hindustan Zinc, India’s largest silver producer, stands to benefit directly from this upcycle. Rising silver and zinc prices are expected to significantly boost earnings and margins, strengthening the company’s cash flows. Adding to the positive sentiment, Jefferies initiated coverage on the stock with a ‘Buy’ rating and a target price of ₹660, implying over 16% upside from recent levels. The brokerage highlighted Hindustan Zinc’s low-cost operations, strong earnings visibility, and rising contribution of silver to overall profitability. Despite the recent rally, the stock still trades nearly 59% below its all-time high of ₹1,443 (January 2011), suggesting further room for long-term re-rating if the commodity upcycle sustains. 📌 Key Hashtags #HindustanZinc #SilverPrices #VedantaGroup #CommodityRally #MetalsStock #StockMarketIndia #Jefferies #52WeekHigh #SilverBullRun #MarketNews
