📉 Indian Markets Slide Sharply as Middle East Tensions Escalate

Sensex and Nifty opened sharply lower on Wednesday as rising Middle East conflict and surging crude oil prices triggered risk-off sentiment in global markets. At 09:16 AM, Sensex plunged 1,677 points (2.1%) to 78,561.8, while Nifty dropped 494 points to 24,371.6, slipping below the key 24,500 level. Market breadth remained weak with 2,203 stocks declining against just 494 advances on the NSE. Volatility surged as India VIX jumped nearly 14% to 19.51, reflecting rising uncertainty among traders. The sharp spike in geopolitical risk and energy prices is intensifying pressure on equity markets. #Sensex #Nifty #StockMarketIndia #MarketVolatility #IndiaVIX
