šŸ“° Italy Gives Conditional Nod to Tata Motors’ €3.8 Billion Acquisition of Iveco

Rome/New Delhi: The Italian government has given its conditional approval for Tata Motors Ltd to acquire truck-maker Iveco Group in a deal valued at €3.8 billion ($4.36 billion), according to a parliamentary document released on Friday. The decision was made on October 31, subject to regulatory and national interest safeguards. The move follows Iveco’s decision to sell its defence business to Italian state-backed Leonardo, clearing a key hurdle for the transaction. Iveco, which manufactures trucks, buses, and engines, is controlled by Italy’s Agnelli family through Exor, which holds a 27.1% equity stake and 43.1% voting rights. Exor has agreed to transfer its entire stake to Tata Motors as part of the acquisition. According to a joint statement from Tata Motors and Iveco, the merger will combine two highly complementary businesses with minimal overlap in products or geography. The combined entity is expected to have annual sales exceeding 540,000 units and revenues of around €22 billion, significantly expanding Tata’s global commercial vehicle footprint. The acquisition marks a major strategic expansion for Tata Motors, which already owns Jaguar Land Rover in the passenger ing 14,000 in Italy, and the transaction is expected to undergo close government scrutiny before final approval. If completed, the deal would position Tata Motors as a formidable global player in the heavy vehicle and commercial transport market, competing more closely with global leaders like Volvo, Daimler, and Traton. #TataMotors #Iveco #Exor #AgnelliFamily #Leonardo #Italy #MergersAndAcquisitions #CommercialVehicles #AutomotiveNews #GlobalExpansion #JaguarLandRover #Volvo #Daimler #Traton #BusinessNews #StockMarketNews
