L&T to Build India’s First Green Hydrogen Plant for IOCL at Panipat

L&T Energy GreenTech will build and run India’s first green hydrogen plant at IOCL’s Panipat refinery in Haryana. The plant will use renewable energy 24/7 to produce 10,000 tonnes of green hydrogen every year for the next 25 years. This project supports India’s Green Hydrogen Mission and IOCL’s goal to cut carbon emissions. The hydrogen will be made using special machines (electrolysers) from L&T’s Hazira unit. The plant is expected to be ready by December 2027 and will help reduce the use of fossil fuels in refinery operations.
