📢 Metal Stocks Shine Amid Market Weakness as US-China Trade Hopes Lift Sentiment
Indian metal stocks traded firm on Tuesday, defying the broader market decline, as optimism over renewed US-China trade talks buoyed investor confidence. The Nifty Metal index climbed nearly 1% to 10,571, emerging as the top sectoral gainer, while most other indices traded in the red. Jindal Steel surged 3.9% to ₹1,073.8 ahead of its Q2 FY26 results, and Tata Steel gained 2.2% to ₹180.6 after Motilal Oswal upgraded the stock to ‘Buy’ from ‘Neutral’, citing a strong domestic outlook, better price realisations, and improved operational efficiency. The brokerage set a target price of ₹210 based on its Sep’27E estimates. Other notable gainers included SAIL (+2.1%), Hindalco (+1%), and JSW Steel (+1.15%), while Hindustan Zinc slipped 2%, and Vedanta, Hindustan Copper, Jindal Stainless, and Lloyds Metals also traded lower. Reports suggested that US and Chinese officials have finalised a trade framework for Presidents Donald Trump and Xi Jinping to review, potentially pausing new tariffs and easing export curbs — a move that improved global risk sentiment. Year-to-date, the Nifty Metal index has advanced 22.25%, outperforming the Nifty 50’s 9.5% gain, even as broader markets remained weak with the Sensex down 357 points and the Nifty falling 93 points. #MetalStocks #NiftyMetal #TataSteel #JindalSteel #USChinaTrade #StockMarketIndia #MotilalOswal #CommodityStocks #MarketUpdate #SteelSector
