NMDC Slips 2% on Weak Q4; Net Profit Drops 22% QoQ
Shares of NMDC fell 2% to ₹70 on May 28 after the company posted a weaker-than-expected Q4 FY25 performance. Consolidated net profit declined 21.8% QoQ to ₹1,483 crore, though revenue rose 6.65% to ₹7,004 crore. YoY, net profit rose 4.8% and revenue grew 7.9%, aided by a 966% surge in pellet sales. Iron ore revenue saw modest 1.8% growth. For FY25, net profit rose 17.4% to ₹6,539 crore, and revenue climbed 12.2% to ₹23,906 crore. Despite the Q4 dip, NMDC shares are up 9% in the past month, beating the Nifty 50’s 2% gain. The government holds a 60.79% stake in India’s top iron ore producer.
