NSE Cash Turnover Hits 16-Month High in January

Equity cash turnover on NSE surged to ₹23.9 lakh crore in January 2026, marking a 16-month high despite fewer trading days. Average daily turnover (ADT) rose to ₹1.2 lakh crore, up 27% MoM and 24% YoY. Mainboard equities drove the momentum, contributing 67% of incremental ADT and 89% of total turnover. ETF turnover jumped 174% MoM, while Sovereign Gold Bonds rose 95% MoM.
