đ° Panasonic Life Solutions India Chairman Manish Sharma Resigns After Over a Decade of Leadership
New Delhi: Manish Sharma, Chairman of Panasonic Life Solutions India, has resigned after leading the Japanese consumer electronics and appliances majorâs India operations for more than a decade. Under Sharmaâs leadership, Panasonic strengthened its presence in the appliances and consumer electronics market, becoming a notable competitor in key categories like room air-conditioners and LED TVs. He has been credited with shaping Panasonicâs business strategy, growth trajectory, and organizational culture in India. According to the company, Sharma will continue to support Panasonic during the transition period, while Tadashi Chiba, Managing Director and CEO, will continue to oversee the India business. Industry sources said Sharma announced his decision during a recent company town hall, which was also attended by Masahiro Shinada, Global Head of Panasonicâs Appliances Business. During his tenure, Panasonic Life Solutions Indiaâa merged entity of Panasonic India, Anchor Electricals, Panasonic Energy, and Panasonic Carbonâexpanded its domestic production base. However, the company also faced headwinds after exiting the refrigerator and washing machine segments earlier this year as part of a global restructuring. Sharma, who joined Panasonic in 2008 as Head of Marketing for Consumer Electronics & Home Appliances, went on to become MD & CEO in 2012, a member of Panasonic Corporationâs Executive Committee in 2016, and Chairman in 2021.
