đ˘ Panasonic Life Solutions India Chairman Manish Sharma Resigns After Over a Decade at Helm
Manish Sharma, Chairman of Panasonic Life Solutions India, has resigned after more than a decade of leading the Japanese consumer electronics and appliance majorâs India operations. Panasonic credited Sharma for shaping the companyâs business strategy, growth trajectory, and organisational culture in India. He will continue to support the firm during the transition, while Tadashi Chiba, Managing Director & CEO, continues to manage India operations. According to industry sources, Sharma announced his decision during a company town hall attended by Masahiro Shinada, Global Head of Panasonicâs Appliances Business. During his tenure, Panasonic emerged as a strong competitor in the Room AC and LED TV segments, bolstered by Sharmaâs advocacy for the âMake in Indiaâ initiative and his push to expand local manufacturing. Sharma also played a key policy role outside the company â heading the Electronics Manufacturing Committee of FICCI, contributing to Indiaâs first PLI scheme for white goods, and serving on the SCALE Committee formed to boost local value addition and exports. Under his leadership, Panasonic India consolidated its entities â Panasonic India, Anchor Electricals, Panasonic Energy, and Panasonic Carbon â under Panasonic Life Solutions India. However, earlier this year, the company exited the refrigerator and washing machine segments as part of its global restructuring strategy. A Bhilai Institute of Technology alumnus, Sharma joined Panasonic in 2008 as Head of Marketing and became MD & CEO in 2012, Executive Committee Member of Panasonic Corporation in 2016, and Chairman in 2021. He previously worked with Haier India and LG Electronics. #PanasonicIndia #ManishSharma #LeadershipChange #ConsumerElectronics #MakeInIndia #Manufacturing #PLI #FICCI #SCALECommittee #CorporateNews #BusinessLeadership
