RBI Takes Back Extra Money from Banks, SDF Drops to ₹1 Lakh Crore
RBI is using a special method (called VRRR) to take back extra money from banks. Because of this, banks have kept less money in a place called SDF — only ₹1 lakh crore now, down from ₹2–3 lakh crore earlier. Experts say this is mainly because of RBI’s action, not due to longer trading hours. Since June 27, RBI has taken out ₹4.91 lakh crore from the system, and overall extra money with banks has also gone down from ₹4 lakh crore to ₹3 lakh crore.
