Sensex, Nifty flat; IT stocks gain, metal, pharma drag

Indian stock markets ended mostly flat on April 29 after a volatile day. Sensex rose 70 points to 80,288, and Nifty edged up 7 points to 24,336. About 1,766 stocks gained, 2,012 fell, and 125 were unchanged. Top gainers included Bharat Electronics, Tech Mahindra, and Reliance, while Sun Pharma and ONGC were among the losers. Most sectors moved slightly, with gains in capital goods, IT, and oil & gas, and losses in metals, power, and pharma.
