Tata Motors Reshuffles Top Leadership; Shailesh Chandra Named MD & CEO, PB Balaji to Head JLR
Tata Motors on Friday announced a major leadership rejig as part of its demerger process. Shailesh Chandra has been appointed Managing Director and CEO of Tata Motors for a three-year term starting October 1, 2025, till September 30, 2028. He will also continue as MD of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. Girish Wagh has been named MD & CEO of TML Commercial Vehicles Ltd, the proposed listed entity housing the automaker’s commercial vehicle business, effective October 1. Meanwhile, Group CFO PB Balaji will step down on November 17 to take charge as CEO of Jaguar Land Rover Automotive in the UK. Succeeding him will be Dhiman Gupta, currently CFO of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd, who will assume the CFO role at Tata Motors the same day. Additionally, Tata Motors has appointed Sudha Krishnan as an Independent Director for five years starting October 1, 2025. Hanne Sorensen will continue on JLR’s board, while Kosaraju Veerayya Chowdary and Guenter Karl Butschek will join the board of TML Commercial Vehicles Ltd.
