Bombay HC dismisses plea for CBI probe into RIL's alleged $1.55-bn ONGC gas diversion case
The Bombay High Court on March 27 dismissed a petition seeking a CBI probe against Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) and its Chairman Mukesh Ambani for allegedly diverting more than $1.55 billion worth of natural gas from neighbouring Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) wells in the Krishna Godavari Basin, off the coast of Andhra Pradesh.
A bench of Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar and Justice Suman Shyam pronounced the order.
The petition was filed by Jitendra P Maru, who requested the court to order the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to take action against RIL and its directors.
