Delhi EV Policy 2.0 roadmap
The Delhi EV Policy 2.0, unveiled in draft form, offers a comprehensive roadmap to accelerate electric vehicle adoption in Delhi through tax exemptions, financial incentives, and phased restrictions on petrol and diesel vehicles. Key highlights include:
100% tax exemption for electric vehicles until March 31, 2030.
Ban on new petrol two-wheeler registrations from April 1, 2028.
Mandatory electric three-wheelers from January 1, 2027.
Fleet restrictions for cab aggregators and commercial operators starting January 1, 2026.
Incentives for electric two-wheelers priced up to Rs 2.25 lakh, with support decreasing over three years.
The policy aims to tackle air pollution in Delhi while strengthening the capital’s clean mobility transition. It is open for public consultation and seeks feedback before finalizing the most ambitious mobility plan yet.
