US, Israel strike Iran updates: Israel warns Iranians in or near military infrastructure
Israeli defence ministry on Saturday announced “preemptive strikes” on Tehran. Explosions and smoke were seen in Tehran as Tel Aviv declared a national emergency. Shortly after, US President Donald Trump announced “major combat operations” in Iran, confirming the involvement of American forces. In retaliation, Iran lauched attacks on Israel and US military bases in the region.
“The State of Israel has launched a preemptive strike against Iran. Defence Minister Israel Katz has declared a special and immediate state of emergency throughout the country,” the statement from the Israeli ministry read, as quoted by AFP.
