IdeaForge: From Turbulence to Takeoff

India's Budget 2026 eyes a ₹10,000 crore push for drone makers via Drone Shakti. This five-year plan offers 10-15% subsidies on factory setup costs and output, plus 50-60% local parts rules. It aims to cut import reliance and boost homegrown UAVs. For IdeaForge, India's top drone firm with 50% market share, this is a game-changer amid recent woes.

IDEAFORGE
leads with rugged drones like SWITCH VTOL for surveillance, NETRA quadcopters for borders, and Q6 for mapping. They handle extremes: -30°C to 55°C, high altitudes over 19,000 feet like Siachen. New stars ZOLT thrives in GPS-denied zones for army needs; YETI eyes logistics. Global nods include NATO stock numbers and a US joint venture for exports. Defence is 59% revenue, but civil mining, agri, and geospatial grow to ₹100 crore in 2-3 years. Yet finances hurt. H1 FY26 revenue crashed 56% to ₹54 crore on order slowdowns. EBITDA loss widened to ₹23 crore; net loss tripled to ₹44 crore despite 52.8% gross margins. Order book at ₹238 crore gives just over a year's visibility, mostly FY26 execution. Q2 showed some recovery: revenue up 10% to ₹41 crore, profit jumped 41% to ₹20 crore on better mix and US push. For shareholders, this budget is hugely beneficial long-term. Subsidies lower capex hurdles, fuel expansions, and secure orders in ₹9,000 crore army drone kitty. It counters cycles, lifts visibility, and re-rates the stock from loss-making lows. Risks linger: execution delays, competition from Zen/Paras, high valuation (negative P/E). Near-term volatility from weak books could pinch. But as leader in a sovereign priority sector, patient holders gain big from growth revival and multiples expansion—value far outweighs pain.
