"Transformers & Rectifiers: Powering Strong Gains for Shareholders"

TARIL
Transformers & Rectifiers India Ltd, founded in 1994, has rapidly established itself as a leading transformer and reactor manufacturer in India. With a market cap of Rs 14,744 crore, the company offers a broad range of products for power generation, transmission, distribution, and industrial clients. Over the past five years, the company’s growth trajectory has been exceptionally strong, signaling significant value for its shareholders. Sales have surged from Rs 701 crore in FY20 to Rs 2,017 crore in FY25—an impressive compound annual growth rate of 24%. Even more striking is the company’s EBITDA, jumping from Rs 51 crore to Rs 327 crore (45% CAGR). The real highlight for shareholders is the net profit spike: from Rs 1 crore in FY20 to Rs 216 crore in FY25, delivering a compounded growth of an outstanding 251%. Such profit expansion has reflected vividly in the company’s share price, which rocketed from around Rs 5 in August 2020 to Rs 491 by August 2025, resulting in a meteoric 9,720% gain. This means Rs 1 lakh invested five years ago would now be worth over Rs 98 lakh—an extraordinary outcome for shareholders. Currently, the stock trades at Rs 491, about 25% below its all-time high, which could provide an attractive entry point. The return on capital employed (ROCE) stands at 28%, highlighting the company’s effective use of capital to generate profits. With a robust order book and ongoing capacity expansion, the management appears optimistic about future prospects. Overall, Transformers & Rectifiers has created significant wealth for its shareholders through exceptional profit growth, efficient management, and strategic positioning in a thriving sector. For existing and potential shareholders, the company’s sustained performance and growth-oriented strategy signal continued value, though as always, market risks remain.
