A Shooting Star candlestick pattern is a bearish reversal signal that typically forms at the top of an uptrend. It has a small real body near the bottom of the candle and a long upper shadow (at least twice the body’s size) with little or no lower shadow. This structure shows that buyers tried to push prices higher during the session, but strong selling pressure forced the close back near the opening level, indicating weakening bullish momentum. Traders usually look for confirmation with the next candle closing lower to validate the reversal.
