When a stock breaks above an important resistance level, that breakout point often changes its role and starts acting as support. This happens because traders who missed the breakout may look to buy on a pullback near the old resistance, while existing buyers try to defend that level. As a result, demand increases around the breakout zone and helps stop the price from falling further. If the stock retests this level and bounces with good volume, it confirms the breakout is strong and suggests the uptrend may continue. This concept is widely used in technical analysis to identify safer entry points and trend confirmation.
