Bharti Airtel (BHARTIARTL) continues to show strong operating fundamentals. In Q1 FY27, consolidated revenue increased 18.4% YoY to ₹58,539 crore, while reported net profit rose about 37% to ₹8,167 crore. Consolidated EBITDA reached ₹33,599 crore, with a healthy 57.4% EBITDA margin, supported by growth across India and Africa.
A major positive is the continued improvement in ARPU (average revenue per user). India mobile ARPU increased to ₹264 from ₹250 a year earlier, helped by premiumisation, tariff benefits and migration toward higher-value customers. Postpaid subscribers have also crossed 30 million, while rising smartphone and 5G adoption should support further monetisation.
The next important growth trigger could be further ARPU expansion. Recent estimates see Airtel's ARPU potentially reaching around ₹277 in FY27 and ₹325 by FY29, helped by premium plans, higher data consumption, postpaid migration and potentially another industry tariff increase. Airtel is simultaneously expanding home broadband, 5G fixed wireless access, enterprise connectivity, cloud and data-centre services, creating growth engines beyond mobile telecom.
