The most encouraging point is that all three major businesses—India aluminium, copper and Novelis—reported record quarterly EBITDA, making this a broad-based improvement rather than a single-segment recovery.
🚀 Major future triggers
1. Novelis recovery:
The Oswego hot mill restarted in June and is ramping up. This should remove an important earnings drag from the previous year. Novelis' EBITDA/tonne improved to $563 from $432.
2. Bay Minette:
The US$5 billion Bay Minette project is under commissioning, with commercial shipments expected in Q1 FY28. This can become a major long-term growth driver for Novelis and its value-added aluminium portfolio.
3. Aluminium expansion:
Aditya Smelter Phase 2 remains on track for metal production in FY28. Downstream projects such as battery foil, FRP and coated AC fins are also expanding Hindalco's higher-value product mix.
4. Structural aluminium demand:
EVs, renewable energy, power transmission, packaging and lightweight automotive applications provide long-term demand support for aluminium.#FundamentalViews
