BEL
reported a sequential decline in its Q1 FY26 financial performance, with revenues falling 51.5% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) to ₹4,440 crore. This was primarily attributed to supply-chain disruptions caused by geopolitical issues in Israel, which impacted the delivery of critical components and affected approximately ₹200 crore worth of orders. Consequently, the company's EBITDA margins contracted by 289 basis points QoQ to 27.89%, and net profits declined by 54% to ₹970 crore.
Despite the quarterly setback, the company maintains a strong outlook for the remainder of the fiscal year, anticipating a significant ramp-up in execution.
Order Book and Future Outlook
Order Book Growth: BEL's order book grew from ₹71,650 crore in Q4 FY25 to ₹74,859 crore in Q1 FY26. The company has since secured an additional ₹3,100 crore in new orders, providing strong revenue visibility.
Key Programs: BEL is poised to execute several large-scale defense programs, including orders for the LRSAM (₹3,000 crore), Himshakti EW system (₹1,700 crore), and Akash missile system (₹1,300 crore).
New Opportunities: The company is optimistic about securing new orders, particularly through emergency defense procurements expected in the coming months. It is also on track with the MF-STAR project and expects to secure QRSAM-related orders in Q4.
Long-Term Projects: BEL is working on long-term, high-value projects, including Project Kusha with DRDO and the development of the Virupaksha radar. The company also expects potential follow-on orders related to the 97 LCA Mk1A aircraft and new drone programs, reinforcing its robust long-term growth prospects.#FundamentalViews
