, India’s largest two-wheeler maker by sales, received official approval on 8 July 2025 for its VIDA V2 Pro electric scooter under the ₹25,938 crore Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for automobiles and auto parts, joining , , and as the fourth two-wheeler EV maker listed. → This approval marks Hero as the 17th company to have an EV model approved under the PLI-Auto scheme, with the company actively seeking PLI support for additional models as well. → Hero’s VIDA electric scooter sales soared by 175% in FY25, reaching 48,674 units and capturing a 4.2% market share among electric two-wheelers, reflecting strong growth momentum despite modest direct PLI disbursements to the industry so far. → Till FY25, total PLI disbursals remained low at about ₹322 crore, with only a handful of companies receiving payouts; however, the government expects claims worth about ₹2,000 crore from nine companies in FY26, indicating heightened activity in the upcoming year
