, India’s first listed homecare services tech company, has seen its shares fall 36% from September highs, hitting an all-time low of ₹125.23. While still above IPO levels, investor sentiment remains cautious ahead of anchor lock-in expiry on 15 December and amid weak Q2FY26 results. Despite strong growth potential, profitability pressures and disintermediation risks weigh on near-term valuations.
Shares have dropped sharply since the first lock-in expiry in October. Another 41.5 million shares (3% of equity) will be eligible for sale on 15 December, raising concerns of further supply-driven pressure.
Net transaction value (NTV) grew 19% YoY to ₹762 crore, and revenue rose 24% to ₹262 crore. However, adjusted EBITDA fell 10% to ₹18 crore due to higher overheads, especially marketing spend. Insta Help, its house help vertical, posted a ₹44 crore loss, dragging overall profitability.
Management targets 9–10% steady-state EBITDA margins for India consumer services, up from 2.4% in Q2. Achieving this requires scaling operations while controlling costs, especially in newer service categories.
Urban Co. aims to expand from 47 cities to 100, with scope to offer 60 service categories across 500 micromarkets per city. This translates to 30,000 potential service offerings, of which only one-third has been tapped so far.
