JSW Energy is rapidly expanding its generation and energy storage capabilities, with significant focus on renewables:
Recent Capacity Additions:
Commissioned 261 MW of renewable energy (RE) in Q1 FY26, comprising 189 MW solar and 72 MW wind.
Total installed capacity now stands at ~13 GW.
Growing Renewable Share:
Renewables account for 56% of the overall installed capacity.
Breakdown: 3,554 MW wind, 2,157 MW solar, and 1,391 MW hydro.
Total Locked-in Capacities:
Generation: 30 GW, including 12.8 GW operational, 12.5 GW under-construction (thermal, wind, solar, hydro), and 4.6 GW in pipeline.
Energy Storage: ~30 GWh, comprising 26.4 GWh from hydro pumped storage and 3 GWh from battery energy storage systems.
FY 2030 Targets:
Aim to reach 30 GW generation capacity.
Target 40 GWh of energy storage capacity.
