Reliance Infra eyes Aviation Market

RELINFRA
Reliance Defence Ltd, part of Reliance Infrastructure, plans to invest ₹10,000 crore over the next decade to expand its aerospace business. This investment will be funded through capital raised via share placements and foreign currency bonds by Reliance Infra. ➞ A key milestone in this expansion is the expected debut of India’s first indigenously assembled Falcon 2000 business jet by 2028. ➞ The aircraft is being built in Nagpur by Reliance Aerostructure Ltd—a subsidiary of Reliance Defence—through a 51:49 joint venture with France’s Dassault Aviation, named Dassault Reliance Aerospace Ltd (DRAL). This marks the first instance of a Dassault jet being manufactured outside France. ➞ Additionally, Reliance has partnered with French avionics firm Thales SA in a separate JV, Thales Reliance Defence Systems, where Thales holds a majority stake. These collaborations aim to bolster domestic manufacturing of aerospace components under India’s Make in India initiative.
