Partners with NEURA Robotics to Develop Humanoid Technologies

SONACOMS
(Sona Comstar) has entered into a partnership with Germany-based NEURA Robotics GmbH to co-develop and industrialise advanced robotics and humanoid technologies. The move marks Sona Comstar’s entry into the rapidly growing intelligent automation and humanoid robotics market. The global humanoid robotics industry is expected to expand significantly, with Bank of America estimating annual sales of 10 million units by 2035. This collaboration positions Sona Comstar at the forefront of this emerging sector. Driving Factors: • Advances in artificial intelligence (AI), perception, and control systems. • Declining computing costs. • Increasing adoption of automation in manufacturing and logistics. Together, these trends are reshaping industrial and humanoid robotics globally. Sona Comstar aims to diversify beyond automotive into the broader mobility and intelligent manufacturing domains. Managing Director & Group CEO Vivek Vikram Singh stated that combining Sona Comstar’s engineering and manufacturing expertise with NEURA’s cognitive robotics technology will help deliver world-class automation solutions for global markets. Founded in 2019, NEURA is a European startup specializing in cognitive robotics — robots that integrate perception, decision-making, and motion control. These systems overcome traditional industrial robots’ limitations by offering adaptability and autonomy. Through this partnership, Sona Comstar will design high-precision components for humanoid robots capable of performing complex and repetitive assembly-line tasks. The robots will enhance manufacturing flexibility, operate 24/7, and significantly improve productivity and efficiency while minimizing downtime. The partnership strengthens India’s presence in advanced robotics, supporting the next generation of intelligent manufacturing and automation across industries worldwide.
