Gears Up for Vande Bharat and Global Expansion 🚄

Vande Bharat Project & Capacity Expansion:

is strengthening its operations to deliver on its ₹24,000-crore order for 80 Vande Bharat Sleeper trains. The company is in the advanced design phase for the prototype, with the first car body under production. To meet the scale of the project, TRSL is expanding its facilities by 40 acres and constructing a 1.6 km test track. The 16-car prototype is expected to roll out by mid-2026, leading into full-scale series production. Supply Chain Resilience: To ensure timely delivery and reduce risks, Titagarh is focusing on local sourcing and strengthening its supply chain. A key step is the joint venture with RKFL and an upcoming plant in Chennai, which will produce 2.28 lakh wheelsets annually starting in 2026. This will significantly reduce the company's dependency on external suppliers, which caused a temporary setback in the June quarter due to a shortage of wheelsets. Technological Advancement & Indigenous Capabilities: The company is heavily investing in automation and an Industry 4.0-ready ecosystem to improve efficiency and quality. This includes robotic welding, automated coil winding, and advanced test benches. These capabilities have allowed TRSL to become the only private Indian company with end-to-end expertise in producing fully indigenous driverless metro trains for cities like Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, and Surat. Financial and Strategic Outlook: Despite a weak Q1 performance due to temporary supply issues, TRSL is confident it will meet its FY26 targets. The company is focusing on executing its strong order book and has reassured investors that proactive measures are in place to mitigate future risks. While India remains its primary focus, TRSL is also looking to expand into global markets, leveraging its products' compliance with European standards to become a major multinational player in the rail mobility sector.
