APOLLOHOSP
reported a strong performance for the first quarter of FY27, with consolidated net profit rising 34.2% year-on-year to ₹581 crore from ₹433 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue from operations increased 20.6% to ₹7,043 crore, crossing the ₹7,000 crore mark for the first time, driven by strong growth across its healthcare services, pharmacy, and digital health businesses. The company's core Healthcare Services business recorded 22% revenue growth, supported by higher occupancy levels, increased patient volumes, and greater demand for complex procedures such as oncology and orthopaedic care. Hospital occupancy improved to 70% from 65% a year earlier. Apollo also continued to expand its healthcare network and reiterated its plan to add over 5,800 hospital beds over the next five years, strengthening its long-term growth strategy. Industry & Economic Impact: The results reflect sustained growth in India's healthcare sector, driven by rising demand for specialised medical treatments, expanding healthcare infrastructure, and increasing healthcare awareness. Higher patient volumes and occupancy levels indicate continued strength in the organised hospital industry. From an economic perspective, continued investment in hospital capacity supports employment, medical research, healthcare accessibility, and allied industries such as pharmaceuticals and diagnostics. Expansion of healthcare infrastructure also strengthens India's medical ecosystem and contributes to long-term economic growth. Source: NDTV Profit No Recommendations
