BANKINDIA
has raised ₹10,000 crore through a long-term infrastructure bond issue at a coupon of 7.23% per annum. The issue had a base size of ₹5,000 crore with a green-shoe option of another ₹5,000 crore and received bids worth ₹15,305 crore across 83 bids, of which 37 were accepted to fully utilise the ₹10,000 crore limit.
The funds are earmarked for long-tenor lending towards infrastructure sub-sectors and affordable housing, in line with RBI guidelines, but are not tied to any specific project. Strong oversubscription and the ability to price the issue at 7.23% indicate healthy institutional demand for long-dated bank paper and support Bank of India’s asset–liability matching for infra and housing portfolios.
