E100 Fuel a Major Step Forward, But Sugar Industry Seeks Better Ethanol Prices

The Indian government’s decision to promote higher ethanol-blended fuels, including E100, marks a significant step toward reducing dependence on imported crude oil & strengthening energy security. While ethanol demand is expected to rise, industry participants remain dependent on favourable pricing policies and adequate raw material supplies. Industry & Economic Impact: The continued expansion of ethanol blending is a structural positive for India's sugar and biofuel industries. Higher ethanol consumption can diversify revenue streams for sugar mills, improve cash flows, and reduce reliance on volatile sugar prices.
