reported a strong performance for the first quarter of FY27, with consolidated net profit rising 53% year-on-year to ₹249 crore from ₹163 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue from operations increased 44% to ₹2,013 crore, crossing the ₹2,000 crore mark for the first time, driven by robust demand across its electrical cables and communication cables businesses. The company's operating performance improved significantly during the quarter. EBITDA surged 79% year-on-year to ₹244 crore, while the EBITDA margin expanded by 230 basis points to 12.1%, reflecting better operating leverage and improved product mix. Growth was led by strong demand for electrical cables across agricultural, industrial, and solar applications, while the communication cables business also recorded a significant turnaround. The company continued to benefit from healthy volume growth despite challenges in the copper rods business. Industry & Economic Impact: The results reflect strong momentum in India's wires and cables industry, supported by rising investments in infrastructure, power transmission, renewable energy, real estate, and industrial projects. Growing demand from sectors such as construction and solar energy continues to drive volume growth for cable manufacturers. From an economic perspective, sustained growth in the wires and cables sector supports infrastructure development, manufacturing, electrification, and employment. Increased production and capacity utilisation also strengthen India's industrial ecosystem and contribute to long-term economic growth through improved power and connectivity infrastructure.
