Research Analyst: UJVIN NEVATIA (PROPRIETOR: NEVAT INVESTMENTS) | SEBI Registration No.: INH100009628

FORTIS
reported a healthy performance for the first quarter of FY27, with consolidated revenue rising 17.4% year-on-year to ₹2,545 crore, driven by strong growth in its hospital business and improving performance in its diagnostics segment. Consolidated net profit increased 2.3% to ₹273 crore, as higher operating expenses and ESOP costs limited profit growth despite the strong rise in revenue. The company's operating EBITDA increased 9.4% year-on-year to ₹537.4 crore, while the EBITDA margin moderated to 21.1% from 22.7% in the corresponding quarter last year. The core hospital business revenue grew 19%, supported by higher occupancy, increased patient volumes, and better average revenue per occupied bed (ARPOB). The diagnostics business also showed signs of recovery, contributing to the overall revenue growth during the quarter. Industry & Economic Impact: The results reflect continued strength in India's healthcare sector, driven by rising demand for quality hospital services, increasing healthcare awareness, and growth in diagnostic testing. Strong patient inflows and expanding healthcare infrastructure continue to support the sector's long-term growth. From an economic perspective, sustained investment in healthcare infrastructure supports employment, medical research, and improved healthcare access. Growth in hospital capacity and diagnostic services also strengthens India's healthcare ecosystem while contributing to overall economic development. Source: NDTV Profit No Recommendations
