Research Analyst: UJVIN NEVATIA (PROPRIETOR: NEVAT INVESTMENTS) | SEBI Registration No.: INH100009628

HEROMOTOCO
reported a weaker performance for the first quarter of FY27, with standalone net profit declining 16.9% year-on-year to ₹1,417.9 crore. Revenue from operations also declined during the quarter as lower wholesale volumes and a softer product mix weighed on overall financial performance. The company's operating performance moderated during the quarter. EBITDA declined year-on-year, while operating margins came under pressure due to higher input costs and lower sales volumes. Despite the softer quarter, Hero MotoCorp continued to focus on strengthening its premium motorcycle portfolio, expanding its electric mobility business, and increasing investments in new product development and distribution. The company also maintained its emphasis on innovation and premiumisation to support long-term growth. Industry & Economic Impact: The results reflect the challenges facing the two-wheeler industry, where demand has remained uneven amid changing consumer preferences and competitive pressures. Manufacturers continue to focus on premium products, electric vehicles, and operational efficiencies to drive future growth. From an economic perspective, the automobile sector plays a key role in manufacturing, employment, and ancillary industries such as auto components, steel, rubber, and logistics. Continued investments in new products and electric mobility support industrial growth and strengthen India's automotive ecosystem. Source: The Hindu No Recommendations
