) is facing a legal challenge over an award of around ₹600 crore after Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd. (MSEDCL) moved the Supreme Court. The dispute relates to an order of the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) that directed payment to JSW Energy. MSEDCL had sought a review of the MERC order before the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity (APTEL), but APTEL did not allow the review route. MSEDCL has now approached the Supreme Court.
