LT
through its AI infrastructure subsidiary LTN Compute, has secured a major order worth between ₹10,000 crore and ₹15,000 crore ($1.05–1.57 billion) to build an advanced AI data centre for U.S.-based cloud computing company Together AI. The project marks L&T's entry into the AI factory business, expanding its presence in digital infrastructure and high-performance computing. The project will involve deploying India's largest single-cluster AI infrastructure, powered by 10,000 NVIDIA B300 GPUs, at L&T's data centre campus in Chennai. The AI factory is designed to support large-scale artificial intelligence model training and inference workloads. The order aligns with L&T's strategy of expanding its AI and digital infrastructure capabilities through its newly established ***** platform and strengthens its position in the rapidly growing AI infrastructure market. Industry & Economic Impact: The project highlights the rapid growth of AI infrastructure and hyperscale data centres in India, driven by increasing demand for generative AI, cloud computing, and high-performance computing. Large-scale AI factories are becoming critical infrastructure for developing advanced AI models and supporting enterprise AI applications. From an economic perspective, investments in AI data centres strengthen India's digital infrastructure, attract global technology companies, create high-skilled employment, and stimulate demand across construction, power, semiconductor, and networking industries. Such projects also enhance India's position as a destination for AI and cloud infrastructure, supporting long-term digital and industrial growth. Source: Business Standard No Recommendations
