PNCINFRA
reported a mixed performance for the first quarter of FY27, with consolidated net profit declining 23% year-on-year to ₹332 crore despite strong growth in revenue and operating profit. The decline in profit was primarily due to a higher tax expense during the quarter. Revenue from operations increased 18.6% year-on-year to ₹1,688 crore, driven by healthy project execution across its infrastructure portfolio. The company's operating performance remained strong, with EBITDA rising 42% to ₹484 crore, while the EBITDA margin expanded to 28.7% from 24% in the corresponding quarter last year, reflecting improved execution efficiency and better cost management. Management highlighted that ongoing project execution and a healthy order book continue to support the company's long-term growth outlook. Industry & Economic Impact: The results reflect continued momentum in India's infrastructure sector, where government spending on roads, highways, and other public infrastructure continues to support construction activity. Improved operating margins indicate efficient project execution despite pressure on reported profitability. From an economic perspective, sustained infrastructure development supports employment, improves logistics efficiency, and stimulates demand across sectors such as cement, steel, engineering, and construction equipment. Continued execution of large infrastructure projects also contributes to long-term economic growth and enhances connectivity across the country. Source: NDTV Profit No Recommendations
