SBI Funds Management Announces IPO Price Band Ahead of Mega Public Issue

Research Analyst: UJVIN NEVATIA (PROPRIETOR: NEVAT INVESTMENTS) | SEBI Registration No.: INH100009628 SBI Funds Management has announced the price band of ₹545–₹574 per share for its ₹11,693 crore initial public offering (IPO), which will open for subscription from July 14 to July 16, with anchor investors bidding on July 13. The IPO is entirely an Offer for Sale (OFS), under which

SBIN
and Amundi India Holding will sell a combined 20.37 crore shares. Since no new shares are being issued, the company will not receive any proceeds from the IPO. The minimum application size for retail investors is 26 shares, requiring an investment of ₹14,924 at the upper end of the price band. Existing SBI shareholders have a dedicated reservation of approximately 1.3 crore shares, while eligible employees have a separate reservation and will receive a ₹54 per share discount. After the IPO, SBI's stake in the asset management company will decline from 98.19% to 88.19%, while it will continue to remain the controlling shareholder. Industry & Economic Impact: The IPO marks one of the largest public offerings in India's asset management industry and reflects the continued growth of the country's mutual fund sector. As India's largest asset manager by assets under management (AUM), SBI Funds' listing is expected to increase transparency, strengthen corporate governance, and provide a market-based valuation for the business. From an economic perspective, the IPO highlights growing investor participation in India's capital markets and the increasing scale of the domestic mutual fund industry. A successful listing could encourage more financial institutions to access public markets, deepen the equity market, and support the long-term development of India's investment management ecosystem.
