TITAN
reported a strong performance for the first quarter of FY27, with consolidated net profit surging 63% year-on-year to ₹1,777 crore from ₹1,091 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Total income increased 40% to ₹20,753 crore, driven by robust growth across its jewellery business and healthy contributions from its watches, eyewear, and emerging businesses. The jewellery business remained the primary growth driver, with revenue rising 43% year-on-year to ₹18,253 crore, supported by strong demand during Akshaya Tritiya, premiumisation, and customer exchange programmes. The India jewellery business grew 38%, while the international jewellery business surged 136%, aided by strong traction in North America and the GCC region. The watches business recorded 21% revenue growth to ₹1,543 crore, while the EyeCare segment also grew 21% to ₹289 crore. Titan's Engineering & Automation business expanded 43%, and its emerging businesses, including fragrances and ethnic wear, grew 18% during the quarter. Industry & Economic Impact: The results reflect continued strength in India's organised jewellery and lifestyle retail sector, supported by premiumisation, festive demand, and rising consumer preference for branded products. Strong growth across multiple business segments highlights resilient discretionary spending despite elevated gold prices. From an economic perspective, sustained growth in organised retail supports manufacturing, gems and jewellery exports, employment, and retail expansion. Continued investment in branded retail and premium products also contributes to higher value addition, tax revenues, and long-term growth in India's consumer economy.
