Bajaj Housing Finance Limited reported Q2 FY27 profit after tax of ₹757 crore, up 18% year-on-year, compared with ₹643 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
Total income increased approximately 18.3% to ₹3,251 crore, while assets under management grew 25% to ₹1.58 lakh crore as of 30 September 2026. Gross NPA stood at 0.29%, compared with 0.26% a year earlier.
Why this matters
Strong AUM growth indicates continued expansion in the housing-finance business. Profit growth also remained healthy, although it trailed AUM growth.
The increase in gross NPA from the year-ago level is worth monitoring, even though the reported ratio remains low. Credit quality must remain strong as the loan book expands.
What to monitor next
AUM and loan disbursement growth.
Net interest margin and funding costs.
Gross and net NPA trends.
Credit costs and provisioning.
Profit growth relative to AUM growth.
My analytical view: The results show healthy business expansion and solid profit growth. The key question is whether Bajaj Housing Finance can sustain its growth while maintaining funding efficiency and disciplined underwriting.
Risk to the thesis: Rising credit costs, tighter competition or higher funding costs could weigh on margins and returns.
