RBL Bank Q2 profit jumps to ₹481.7 crore

RBLBANK
RBL Bank Limited reported Q2 FY27 net profit of ₹481.7 crore, compared with ₹179 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Net interest income rose 37.4% YoY to ₹2,131 crore. Asset quality also improved sequentially: gross NPA declined to 1.02% from 1.30%, while net NPA fell to 0.29% from 0.37%. However, provisions increased to ₹766.5 crore from ₹599.2 crore in the previous quarter. <Link url="***** title="Source: Financial Express"/>. Why this matters Higher net interest income and improved reported asset-quality ratios are encouraging. However, rising provisions are a reminder that the bank's credit costs and risk profile still need close attention. What to monitor next Net interest margin and deposit costs. Gross and net NPA trends. Credit costs and provisioning. Loan growth and deposit mobilisation. Return on assets and return on equity. My analytical view: The results show substantial year-on-year profit improvement. To determine whether this performance is sustainable, investors should assess the source of earnings growth and whether lower bad-loan ratios persist without elevated provisioning. Risk to the thesis: Higher credit costs or funding pressure could weigh on future profitability. SEBI RA Disclaimer: Umang Rajesh Bhutada is a SEBI-registered Research Analyst (INH000023001).
