NTPC

Technical indicators present a more cautious outlook. Weekly and monthly charts reveal bearish signals across several metrics. The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) is bearish on a weekly basis and mildly bearish monthly, while Bollinger Bands also indicate downward pressure in both timeframes. Daily moving averages align with this bearish sentiment, suggesting that short-term momentum is subdued. Other technical tools such as the Know Sure Thing (KST) indicator show a mixed picture, with weekly readings bearish but monthly trends bullish. The Dow Theory analysis points to mildly bearish trends on both weekly and monthly scales. Meanwhile, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) and On-Balance Volume (OBV) do not currently signal strong directional momentum, reflecting a lack of clear conviction among market participants. Price action over recent periods has been modestly negative, with the stock price declining by 2.26% over the past week and 1.38% over the last month, contrasting with the broader Sensex index which has shown slight gains in the same intervals. Year-to-date, however, NTPC has outperformed the Sensex, returning 3.13% compared to the benchmark’s negative 7.84%.
