Premier Energies Commissions India’s Largest Solar Cell Facility, becomes largest Cell manufacturer with 10.6 GW capacity 7 GW N-type TOPCon G12R facility commissioned on time and within budget; designed for approximately 88,000 solar cells per hour and future TOPCon+ upgrades. Premier Energies Limited (NSE: PREMIERENE, BSE: 544238) has commissioned its 7 GW N-type TOPCon G12R solar cell manufacturing facility at Naidupeta, Andhra Pradesh and starts trial runs, taking the company’s total solar cell capacity to 10.6 GW ( India’s largest cell manufacturer ). Spread across 101 acres and developed at a capital expenditure of ₹3,293 crore, the facility is India’s largest solar cell manufacturing plant. Commenting on the development, Mr. Chiranjeev Saluja, Managing Director, Premier Energies Limited, said: “Commissioning India’s largest solar cell manufacturing facility on time and within budget is an important execution milestone for Premier Energies. The timing of this 7 GW capacity addition is therefore significant: as the line stabilises and ramps up, it gives us the scale to serve that demand with greater supply reliability and operating efficiency. Together with our planned backward integration into ingots and wafers, this strengthens our strategy of building a fully integrated and globally competitive solar manufacturing platform while supporting India’s clean energy transition.” Built for high-throughput, digitally enabled manufacturing, the facility can produce approximately 88,000 solar cells per hour. Advanced digital systems and artificial intelligence support predictive performance analysis, tighter process control and precision manufacturing, while fully automated transport, packing and packaging systems improve throughput, consistency and operating efficiency.
