Founder and Vision: The company was founded by Mr. Radhakishan Damani, a well-known investor in the Indian equity market. His philosophy, often described as "Everyday Low Cost - Everyday Low Price," is a cornerstone of D-Mart's success. This is achieved through a focus on efficient operations, competitive procurement, and cost-effective distribution. Store Ownership: A key differentiator for D-Mart is its strategy of owning most of its store properties rather than leasing them. This helps in controlling costs and provides stability. Expansion: D-Mart has a presence in numerous states and union territories across India, with a strong concentration in its cluster-states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. As of recent data, the company has over 400 stores. Online Presence: The company also has an e-commerce arm, "DMart Ready," which provides online grocery and household product delivery. 2. Financial and Stock Performance Financials: The company has consistently demonstrated strong revenue and profit growth. For the financial year ending March 2025, Avenue Supermarts reported a consolidated revenue of over ₹57,700 crore and a net profit of around ₹2,700 crore.
