Segment-wise Performance

DRREDDY
North America: Revenue from this key market declined by 11% YoY. This was primarily attributed to increased price erosion on certain key products, particularly Lenalidomide. Management has indicated that this pricing pressure is expected to intensify. Europe: This segment was a major growth driver, with a remarkable 142% YoY revenue increase. The growth was largely fueled by the recently acquired Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) business and new product launches. India: The Indian business showed strong growth of 11% YoY, driven by new product launches and effective commercial execution. Emerging Markets: Revenue from these markets increased by 18% YoY, supported by higher volumes of existing products and new launches. Strategic Initiatives and Future Outlook Focus on Complex Generics and Biosimilars: Dr. Reddy's is strategically investing in a pipeline of complex generics, biosimilars, and peptides. A key focus is on its generic version of semaglutide (the active ingredient in popular weight-loss drugs like Wegovy), which the company plans to launch in multiple countries, including Canada and India, starting next year, subject to regulatory approvals. R&D Investment: The company's R&D spend for the quarter was ₹624 Crore, representing 7.3% of its revenue, in line with its full-year guidance. This investment is crucial for building its future pipeline. Partnerships: Dr. Reddy's has expanded its partnership with Alvotech to co-develop a biosimilar for Keytruda® (pembrolizumab). It has also collaborated with Sanofi to launch a novel drug for preventing Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) in India.
