* ONGC is significantly strengthening public infrastructure in Jammu & Kashmir. Under its CSR program, the company is constructing Disaster Management and Yatri Niwas complexes at four strategic locations: Baltal, Nunwan, Bijbehara, and Sidhra.
* These facilities are designed to provide safe accommodation, sanitation services, and emergency support, primarily for the annual Amarnath Yatra pilgrims (over five lakh annually) but also serving local communities year-round.
* The Baltal complex is fully operational and will be formally inaugurated on July 4, 2025, by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, along with ONGC Chairman Arun Kumar Singh.
* Construction at Nunwan and Bijbehara is expected to be completed by September 2025, and the Sidhra complex by September 2026.
* This follows ONGC's earlier efforts in 2024, which included establishing permanent 100-bed hospitals in Baltal and Chandanwari.
