Tata Consumer: Q1 profit up 27.8%, but stock 24% off high

TATACONSUM
Tata Consumer Products reported Q1 FY27 revenue of Rs 5,349 crore, up 11.9 percent YoY, and consolidated profit of Rs 427 crore, up 27.8 percent. Management’s outlook is double-digit revenue growth for FY27, and brokers backed it in May. The stock has since fallen well below its 52-week high, and I could not find a cause for the fall in any source I checked. Q1 FY27 (consolidated): Revenue from operations: Rs 5,349 crore, up 11.9 percent YoY Net profit: Rs 427 crore, up 27.8 percent YoY Total expenses: up 11 percent YoY Tata Consumer [

][***** closed at Rs 965.15 on 16 October on StockGro, down 1.6 percent from Rs 980.58. The stock is 3.9 percent above its 52-week low of Rs 928.84 and 24 percent below the Rs 1,271.14 high. At 58.4 times trailing earnings, the price still assumes the growth outlook holds. My view: hold for holders, not a fresh entry. The double-digit growth outlook is the test, and the Q1 numbers support it. But the price has fallen with no stated reason, so the outlook is not yet confirmed in the market. Fresh money waits for the Q2 FY27 result to show double-digit revenue growth and a close back above Rs 980.58. Without both, no fresh money. My exit is a close below Rs 928.84, the 52-week low.
