Ceigall India Emerges as L1 Bidder for ₹608.67 Cr.
Ceigall India has emerged as the L1 bidder for a major Common Transmission System project aimed at evacuating power from Lakadia Phase-II (7.5 GW), Jam Khambhaliya Phase-II (5.5 GW) and Jamnagar Phase-I (1 GW) across Gujarat and Maharashtra. The project has been awarded through Tariff-Based Global Competitive Bidding via E-Reverse Auction conducted by REC Power Development and Consultancy (RECPDCL). The project involves a 36-month execution period, followed by a substantial 35-year operational period, with annual transmission charges of ₹608.67 crore during the operating phase. The scale of the project is significant, covering power evacuation infrastructure for a combined 14 GW capacity, positioning Ceigall to participate in the rapidly expanding transmission infrastructure required to support India's growing electricity demand and renewable-energy integration. The development also marks an important potential expansion of Ceigall India's infrastructure profile beyond its traditional construction activities. The company has established capabilities across highways, expressways, elevated roads, flyovers, bridges, railway over bridges, tunnels and runways, and the transmission opportunity provides exposure to a long-duration infrastructure asset with recurring annual transmission charges. With India's power ecosystem undergoing significant capacity additions and requiring corresponding investments in transmission and evacuation networks, projects of this nature can create sizeable opportunities for infrastructure players with execution capabilities.
