π° FII Money Flowing In β Guess Where?π
Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs)π have significantly increased their investments in Indian equities since mid-April 2025, with a pronounced focus on specific sectors. According to data from 5paisa, FIIs infused over βΉ38,000 crore into Indian equities during the second half of April, with financial services commanding the lionβs share of over 60 percent. Top Sectors Attracting FII Inflows:π 1. Financial Services (BFSI): Leading the pack, the financial sector attracted βΉ22,910 crore, accounting for over 60% of the total FII inflows during this period. This surge is attributed to strong balance sheets and healthy asset quality in banks like IndusInd Bank and Aptus Value Housing, which saw FII holdings rise by 4.79% and 5.88%, respectively. 2. Capital Goods: After witnessing net outflows of βΉ3,019 crore in the first half of April, the capital goods sector saw a reversal with inflows of βΉ2,944 crore in the latter half. This shift reflects optimism in infrastructure spending and the sector's growth prospects. 3. Telecommunications: The telecom sector attracted sustained interest, with investments exceeding βΉ2,500 crore, up from βΉ2,137 crore in the first half of April. This is buoyed by sustained sectoral demand and positive growth outlook. 4. Power Sector: FIIs made substantial investments in the power sector, picking up βΉ5,143 crore worth of shares in the first two weeks of April. This marks their largest buying spree in the sector since August 2023, driven by anticipated earnings growth amid soaring demand. This sectoral shift underscores FIIs' strategic reallocation towards sectors with strong domestic demand and growth potential, while exercising caution in areas facing global uncertainties.π What are your thoughts?
